One day, while I was at my parents place, I decided to open few old wood boxes that were abandoned in the garage for many years. Once my father, while renovating a house, was asked from the owner to throw the boxes away. He instead decided to bring them home. Inside the boxes I found hundreds of books and magazines from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century. The books were from the father of the house owner who was a military general. The following are texts that i found in these and other magazine and books that I’ve collected over the years of my investigation. They are dealing with the topic of italian colonialism, fascism, imperialism, cultural hegemony, capitalism, nationalism, gendered and sexualised regimes. My interest is to share this material in order to understand and investigate the manipulative mechanisms of the propaganda and the organisation of the consensus through the media of that time, which may help to understand the logic of media today.
